Tarantino stars in Miike's next
June 12, 2007 12:32 IST

Takashi Miike, Quentin Tarantino and Japanese actress Kaori MomoiAs always, Quentin Tarantino is thrilled about his next film.

Nope, the Grindhouse co-director isn't making another just yet, but will be seen in Takashi Miike's upcoming Sukiyaki Western: Django, a remake of the 1966 Italian classic, Django.

Miike, the censor-pushing Japanese director known for his graphically violent and extremely stylistic films, has a cult audience around the world, his fans raving about movies like Ichi The Killer, Full Metal Yakuza and One Missed Call.

Given such bizarre violent roots -- barf bags were given out as promotional material to Ichi audiences -- he was bound to find an admirer in Kill Bill director Tarantino, who gushed about his acting job in the upcoming remake.

Sukiyaki Western: Django is slated for release in the US this September.
