Reader Rikin Thakker spotted Deepa Mehta at Water's premiere in Washingon DC last year. He had to wait for two hours for the tickets as it was a houseful show with most of the Non Indians in queue.
He did not get tickets for the show but his wait paid off when he met Deepa Mehta in the hall way. Rikin and his wife Rupal approached the director and spoke to her.

Rupal had a wonderful time chatting with Deepa, and says she was very friendly. Rikin photographed the two of them.
