Bachchan fans protest against IT notices
June 13, 2006 16:52 IST
Fans of Amitabh Bachchan staged a rally outside an Income Tax office in Mumbai to protest against notices issued to the actor and his family over the payment of tax dues.
The fans, wearing dark glasses, also shouted slogans against the Central government during the protest. They later courted arrest.
Bachchan was recently in the news after a media report suggested he had bought a pair of sunglasses for Rs 2.7 lakh. He then wrote to a senior income tax official, suggesting this was "most improbable".
