Amitabh Bachchan has played a father in many recent films like Sooryavansham, Ek Rishtaa – A Bond Of Love and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and reprises the role in both Armaan and Baghbaan. In fact, the Big B is among the silver screen's most saleable fathers now.

Armaan is his first film with a woman director.

Amitabh, who was recently bestowed the honorary citizenship of Deauville, a scenic town 200km from Paris -- he is only the fourth person after Queen Elizabeth II, the late Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, and Pope John Paul II to be bestowed this honour -- also sings a song, Aao milke gaaye aisa gaana, in Armaan.
