Tarun, Shahab or Anand for Aamir?

Hema Ravikumar in Los Angeles

Aamir Khan has been a busy bee in Los Angeles, where he and director Ashutosh Gowariker have set up camp at an exclusive West Hollywood hotel.

The two are accompanied by their wives -- Reena Dutt and Sunita Gowariker -- and Oscar-winning costume designer Bhanu Athaiya (Gandhi, 1982). They are all anxiously awaiting the fate of Lagaan at the 74th Annual Academy Awards, which will be held at the Kodak Theater, LA, on March 24.

The actor has had no time to relax, he confesses. "I have been stuck in meetings," he grimaces. He is dearly longing for the Oscars fever to subside so he can relax with his wife and children. He plans to take two months off to hang out with his family.

As to the destination, he's not telling.

For the moment, however, the actor is in three minds. Literally. He has had three designers make ensembles for him -- India's Giorgio Armani Shahab Durazi, ace Delhi-based designer Tarun Tahiliani and New York-based talent Anand Jon.

Strange as it might sound, on the eve of the Oscars Night, the actor has not made up his mind which designer he will choose. "I will just pick one that day," he says impishly. "But I am wearing a sherwani and churidar. [Wife] Reena hasn't yet decided [what she will wear]."
