Mrinal Sen’s new film to be released in March
Mrinal Sen is back in the director's chair. He returns with his new film Swadesh, a film on love and goodness set in Bengal.
The film stars Nandita Das, Saswata Chatterjee and Kaushik Sen in the main roles. This is Das' second Bengali film.
Sen says the idea of making the film came to him during the troubled times the world has recently seen, which aroused a need to return to the cinema. Swadesh based on a story by Afsar Ahmad, is a slice of life that deals with simple emotions.
The film is being shot in one stretch and is expected to be released in March.
