SHORT TAKES

Amitabh Bachchan is in a dilemma.

On one hand, he is the ambassador of ICICI Bank and on the other, he plays a bank thief in two of his forthcoming films.

In Sanjay Gupta’s film Kaante he plays one of the five who get involved in a bank robbery.

And in Vipul Shah’s film All the Best Amitabh Bachchan plays a bank employee who masterminds a bank robbery.

Now Amitabh is in a quandary and has been forcing the filmmaker to make necessary changes, justifying the negative shade to his character.

Designer dreams

Karan Johar He may have a flair for clothes and designing costumes for his stars including the suits that Amitabh Bachchan wears in the television game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati.

But when it comes to interiors, Karan Johar is foxed.

"I know what I want and what I don't," he admits, "but would never be able to get it organised. And neither would I be able to pull it through."

And for such a person who designs his house better than best buddy Aditya Chopra's wife, Payal Chopra, an interior designer herself.

She has been assigned the task of doing up Karan’s house and by the looks of it Payal seems to be doing a fabulous job of it.

Juggling between daughters and dates

Kariena and Karisma Kapoor Having one daughter at home is tiresome enough for Babita. So what happens when both the babies are home?

Mom Babita must be tearing her hair apart. It so happens that Kariena Kapoor was done with a bout of typhoid and around the same time, Karisma developed some eye infection.

So while nursing the girls and attending to worried-about-their-schedule producers, Babita must be a wreck.

However, it is the juggling of dates and appeasing irate producers that must be driving Babita nuts.

Hard to digest

The newspapers headlines screamed 'Aamir Khan's killers apprehended. Shot dead in Encounter'.

A still from Lagaan On close inspection, we found certain discrepancies. If the killers had come down to Bombay, how was it possible that they did not know that the person, whom they had come down to kill, was not in town.

Aamir Khan, who is currently on a world tour with Anil Kapoor and Ash and his Lagaan team is still holidaying in LA, though his team and the other members came down a day or two after the killing.

Imagine the killers carrying evidence -- a letter stating their intentions -- in their pockets. It is time the police looked at the screenwriters for convincing scenes.

Can't say no to Akki

Ever since Bipasha Basu sizzled in Ajnabee, she has been hell bent on doing leads only.

A still from Ajnabee But now, the dusky seductress is expected to sizzle once again in a dazzling song and dance number in Vipul Shah’s All The Best. Why is she making the exception?

Apparently, she has agreed to do the part only at Ajnabee co-star Akshay Kumar's request, who incidentally plays one of the heroes in All the Best.

Akshay has been so impressed with the lady’s work that not only did he recommend her name to filmmaker Vipul Shah but also went ahead and convinced Bipasha to do the song.

Since the request came straight from Akshay, there was no way that Bipasha could refuse.
