The Indian Telly Awards 2001 were announced at The Oberoi, Bombay, on July 6, 2001.

The first of its kind, these awards promoted by indiantelevision.com, seek to reward the achievements of India's cable and satellite television professionals -- be they programmers, marketers, producers, cable television operators or CEOs.

indiantelevision.com CEO Anil Wanwar presented two posthumous awards to late Bhakti Bharve and late Jatin Kanakia.

In the background is a replica of the trophy -- The Indian Telly.
