His anger towards society had him projecting it on celluloid.

Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi has a bone to pick against society's double standards, especially atrocities towards women in his film, Lajja.

All the female characters in the film are named after Goddess Sita.

"My point is, Sita's exile is still not over. She is being tested all the time. Whether it is the woman who lives in New York or the one in a small village in Bihar. They face the same problem," states Santoshi.

Santoshi adds that it is this anger, rage and exploitation towards women that has been highlighted in Lajja.
