People have preferred politics of development, says Kalam
May 21, 2009 14:55 IST

Former President A P J Abdul Kalam [Images] today said the outcome of the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections is a clear indication that the people of the country have preferred "politics of development" over "politics of politics".

"India is experiencing a new situation and system and people have liked politics of development over politics of politics," Kalam, who was in Nagpur to attend a function by a private hospital, told reporters.

He said economic development is far more important as the country's future lies in it. Kalam, who is on a two-day tour of the region, will attend programmes in Akola and address members of business community tomorrow.
