BJP's key strategist Sudheendra Kulkarni has said his party does not consider Congress as "untouchable" and that it was ready to work with it if the nation's interests demand.

"We don't believe in political untouchability. If the country's interest demands that BJP and Congress have to work together, we will certainly work together with Congress," Kulkarni, a close associate of BJP's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani [Images] told NDTV.

Noting that India needs a stable government, he said the parties have to work together to form a stable government.

"We can have a lot of 'Tu Tu, Mein Mein' (criticizing each other here) but now that we have entered the last stage of the election process, what the people want is not 'Tu Tu, Mein Mein' but 'Tu' and 'Mein' (you and me). We all have to work together, the political parties have to work together to form a stable government," he said.
