The Bhadohi district administration has served a notice on Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav [Images] for his alleged remarks against a particular community during an election rally.

District Magistrate Deepika Duggal on Wednesday said a notice had been served on Mulayam Singh on Tuesday for his remarks against a particular community during an election rally recently and he had been asked to submit his reply within three days.

During the rally, Singh had read out excerpts of a book written by Uttar Pradesh [Images] Chief Minister and BSP supreme Mayawati [Images] and made some derogatory remarks.

Duggal said his remarks were objectionable and amounted to violation of the model code of conduct.

A CD of his speech had been sent to the Election Commission, she said.
