Prakash Karat [Images], general secretary of the CPI-M, has denied the news report of PTI that has quoted him saying that, "He could consider accepting the post of Prime Minister under 'inevitable circumstances', even as he categorically ruled out supporting the Congress in forming the next government"

While communicating with rediff.com, Karat said, "nothing of that sort" he shared with the media in Tirupati. When asked if he was denying the report, he said , "It's ( news report) rubbish. I have protested to PTI. Why should I (even) deny it?"

The PTI report said, "Though he claimed that he was not at all interested in the post of prime minister, Karat told mediapersons in Tirupati that he would think of it if there was no other option."
