Patali Makkal Katchi founder S Ramadoss has questioned the credibility of the United Progressive Alliance government's foreign policy.

"Why in the last five years did the Union Cabinet not discuss the plight of Sri Lankan Tamils. What were the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Congress ministers doing? On a few occasions when the PMK minister wanted to raise the issue, he was not heard at all," Ramadoss said.

The PMK chief spoke to rediff.com from campaign trail near Chennai.

Ramadoss was confident that the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-front led by Jayalalitha would sweep all 40 seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

"Wait and watch on May 16, what is being said today shall come true. The DMK lost its credibility amongst the voters in Tamil Nadu and it will be defeated miserably."

Talking about India supplying arms and ammunition to the Sri Lankan army, Ramadoss said that this was a great betrayal by the UPA towards Tamils. "Brides and bridegrooms are being picked up for Sri Lankan Tamil families from Indian families. We have ethnic ties in the Sri Lanka [Images]. The DMK and Congress both have miserably failed to stop the killings of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka."
