V S Sampath is the next Election Commissioner

V S Sampath is all set to become the new Election Commissioner.
An officer of 1973 Andhra Pradesh cadre, Sampath is the Union Power Secretary now. He will conduct the 2014 general election and shall retire on January 15, 2015.
