H D Deve Gowda is the only former prime minister to contest the 2009 Lok Sabha polls. On Wednesday, the former PM and supremo of the Janata Dal-Secular filed his nomination papers from Hassan in Karnataka. In his affidavit Gowda has stated that he has cash of Rs 21,603 apart from two Ambassador [Images] cars.

The details of his assets and liabilities are as follows: Gowda has cash of Rs 21,603 in hand and a deposit of Rs 5,30,969.62 which includes a Public Provident Fund of Rs 1,06,939.00 and deposits in the State Bank of India [Get Quote] of Rs 4,19,933.67 and two separate deposits in Karnataka bank [Get Quote] to the tune of Rs 2,830.18 and Rs 1,266.77 respectively.

Apart from this he has shares worth Rs 1,007. Gowda has also declared that he has two Ambassador car (1974 model) valued at Rs 15,500 and a new Ambassador car (2004 model) valued at Rs 4,76,914. The jewellery owned amounts to Rs 48,500 (present value - Rs 1,25,000) and other properties are worth Rs 17,55,987. His furniture is worth Rs 38,395 and he earns a salary of Rs 40,592. Gowda has also declared that he owns land in Haradanahalli, Hariyarapur, Kalenahalli Kavalu, Kamalehalli, and Bare Hosur villages worth Rs 12 lakh. He has also declared land worth Rs 3 lakh in the name of his brother at Haradanahalli, Beeranahalli, Chakenahalli worth Rs 3 lakh.

Gowda's wife Chennamma's assets are cash of  Rs 2,66,677.40 and deposit of Rs 3,30,538.70 respectively.
