Jharkhand MLAs greet Raje on b'day

March 08, 2005 16:30 IST

The 36 Bharatiya Janata Party and Independent members of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly met Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Tuesday to greet her on her birthday, party sources said.

The MLAs, who were taken to Rajasthan following the developments in Jharkhand, where Shibu Soren has been made the chief minister, were accompanied by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Rajendra Rathore.

Later, they visited churches and offered prayers.

The MLAs are staying in a resort hotel on the outskirts of the Pink City and a private farmhouse.

Tight security is being maintained at the resort and the farm house, with entry of outsiders restricted, police said.
