Advani meets PM, discusses Bihar

Onkar Singh in New Delhi | March 07, 2005 15:48 IST

Bharatiya Janata Party president Lal Kishenchand Advani on Monday called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the latter's office in South Block in New Delhi.

During the meeting that lasted just 10 minutes, Advani stressed the need for appointing clean and able administrators in Patna in case President's rule is imposed in Bihar.

Advani chose not to speak to the waiting journalists after the meeting.

After a weeklong impasse over government formation in Bihar in the wake of the polls throwing up a hung assembly, Governor Buta Singh on Sunday recommended imposition of President's rule in the state.

A close aide of Advani told that he called for the recall of governors of Jharkhand and Goa for their partisan role in the recent political developments in the two states.
