Condemning the Jharkhand governor's decision to invite Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren to form the new government in the state as "constitutional outrage," the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday demanded immediate recall of the governor and declared that it will oppose his decision tooth and nail.

"This is a constitutional outrage the like of which has been seen only during the days of Emergency. The Congress party is re-enacting the days of Emergency," party general secretary and spokesman Arun Jaitley said in New Delhi.

Attacking Governor Syed Sibtey Razi, he said while the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance had paraded 41 MLAs before him, it was shocking that he chose to invite JMM chief Shibu Soren to form the government.

The governor has given Soren time till March 21 to "manipulate majority through horse trading," Jaitley said.

He said a party delegation will call on the President in the evening and lodge its protest on the governor's conduct.
