Sonia chooses Manmohan Singh

May 19, 2004 14:28 IST

The Congress on Wednesday circulated a resolution electing Manmohan Singh as the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party.

A senior Congress leader said the resolution had been circulated among party MPs to be returned after being signed.

Another round of CPP meeting might take place later in the day after the process is over, he said.

Meanwhile, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief Vaiko called on Singh and discussed the Common Minimum Programme.
