CPI to join Cong-led govt if other Left parties do

The Communist Party of India on Monday announced that it would join the Congress-led government at the Centre provided all other Left parties do so. Addressing a press conference, CPI general secretary A B Bardhan said that participation of the Left parties would help provide stability to the coalition government. | Also Read | | |

To ensure unity and cohesion among the Left parties, either the whole Left joins the government or it keeps out, Bardhan said adding that it would not be a unilateral decision.
