CMP in 5 days: Pranab Mukherjee

Senior Congress leader and former Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday expressed bewilderment at the stock market crash.

Talking to a television channel, he pointed out that his party colleague and the man who ushered economic reforms in the early 90s, Manmohan Singh, had assured the nation that the Congress would continue with the reforms agenda.

He told CNBC that the Congress would come out with a common minimum programme in the next five days.

Some of the nervousness is attributed to the statements of the Left parties who have among other things called for scrapping of the Divestment Ministry and partially to the lack of a pre-poll CMP.
