Shiv Sena parliamentarian Mohan Rawale defeated his NCP rival Sachin Ahir by a margin of 22,188 votes.

The third candidate was Arun Gawli, the don-turned-politician. Sachin is Gawli's nephew and has considerable clout in Parel and Worli, key localities of mill workers.
