Ajit Jogi wins Mahasamund seat

Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi won the prestigious Mahasamund Lok Sabha seat, defeating BJP candidate Vidyasharan Charan Shukla by a record margin of 1,18,505 votes.

Jogi, who met with an accident on April 11 and was operated for severe spinal injuries, polled 4,14,647 votes, against 2,96,142 votes polled by Shukla, out of the total 7,70,922 polled votes.
