Just a day before the results of the Lok Sabha elections are to be declared, the Congress candidate from Outer Delhi, Sajjan Kumar, finds himself in the midst of a controversy.
A 19-year-old maid servant working in his house has died under mysterious circumstances. According to sources in the Delhi police, Kumar's family claims she died of electrocution.
The Madipur police chowkie has registered a case under Section 174 of the Indian penal Code, which pertains to unnatural death. Police will investigate the case. A post-mortem will be conducted on Thursday.
Incidentally, Congress leaders in Delhi seem to have an uncanny knack for finding themselves in the midst of unsavoury controversies.
One former Youth Congress leader, Sushil Kumar, was convicted for murdering his wife while former Union minister Natwar Singh's daughter-in-law died under mysterious circumstances.
