President Kalam casts vote

President A P J Abdul Kalam exercised his franchise in the Lok Sabha election at a polling station inside the Presidential estate on Monday morning.

The President voted at the Government Co-education Senior Secondary School minutes after the voting process began at 7 am.
 
He was the first person to vote at this booth in the prestigious New Delhi constituency.

"I feel beautiful to exercise my right to vote," President Kalam said after casting his vote.

Asked about the experience of using the electronic voting machine, the President said: "Fantastic."

Sonia Gandhi votes

Congress president Sonia Gandhi cast her vote in the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.

Accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and party candidate in the constituency, Ajay Maken, Gandhi exercised her franchise at the Nirman Bhawan polling booth.
