Vajpayee is tired, says Congress

May 06, 2004 23:30 IST

Citing another instance of his 'memory loss', Congress on Thursday said that it was clear that Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee 'is tired now and he is being dragged forcibly into electioneering by the party'.

"The BJP is doing injustice to Vajpayee by forcing him go for electioneering," party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters.

Giving the 'latest example of Vajpayee's memory loss', he said the prime minister at an election rally at Sawai Madhopur on May one had said, 'The government has already changed in Rajasthan and in some days there will be change of government at the Centre. This will facilitate better coordination between the two.'

At the daily press briefing, the party showed footage of Aaj Tak TV at the daily press briefing to drive home the point.

Vajpayee has rightly observed that there would be change of government at the Centre in some days and 'we also need this and we fully support him', Singhvi said.

"Now it is for the people to judge whether it is safe to hand over the reins of the government to this prime minister and his party," Singhvi added.
