The president of the Madurai Rajnikanth Narpani Manram, S Jabber, told reporters that the aim behind supporting the AIADMK-BJP combine was to prove the strength of Rajnikanth's voice to the Pattali Makkal Katchi leader, S Ramadoss.

"We are very much hurt by Ramadoss's statement that Rajnikanth's voice will not have any impact. We are also hurt that the Democratic Progressive Alliance (the Congress+Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) leaders did not condemn the PMK volunteers' attack on Rajnikanth fans. We have no option except to prove our strength," Jabber said.

He said the RFA has designed posters with Rajni's 'Baba Mudra', from the 2002 film Baba.

"Our soul is with Rajnikanth and when he has decided to vote for the BJP we have no other option but to support the front which the BJP backs."
