Vajpayee to file nomination from Lucknow on April 13

March 26, 2004 18:25 IST

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will file his nomination papers for the coming Lok Sabha election from Lucknow on April 13.

Vajpayee will first inaugurate his election office at Vidhan Sabha Marg after performing yagna and then file his nomination papers at the collectorate compound, Vajpayee's election in-charge and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lalji Tandon told PTI.

Vajpayee will address his supporters after filing his nomination, Tandon said. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the occasion, he added.

According to BJP sources, April 13 is auspicious as it is 'Baisakhi' day and the number is also lucky for the prime minister.

The district administration is making foolproof arrangements for the prime minister's visit with the district magistrate convening a meeting yesterday to discuss security arrangements, official sources said.
