BJP worker in AP attempts self-immolation

March 24, 2004 21:34 IST

Protesting the alleged raw deal meted out to the party in Andhra Pradesh, a Bharatiya Janata Party worker on Wednesday attempted self-immolation in Hyderabad even as office-bearers of the city unit of the party offered to resign.

The protests within the saffron party grew louder after three days of hectic parleys between Telugu Desam Party and BJP leaders failed to sort out irritants.
