Ram temple issue can be resolved: Advani

March 02, 2004 14:15 IST

Expressing confidence that only the Vajpayee government's efforts could help build a Ram temple in Ayodhya and also maintain communal harmony, Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani on Tuesday said the most favourable way of resolving the issue is through an agreement between the two communities.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday, Advani said there are only three ways to address the Ram mandir issue -- a court order, a parliamentary edict or an agreement between the two principal communities involved.

"We believe that it is the third approach that will be enduring and that will be the most favourable. And we also believe that on the basis of discussions we have had in the past six months or so, that this is possible and feasible and is going to come about," he said.
