With Jogi back can Judeo be far behind?

February 26, 2004 22:34 IST

If Congress has decided to use scam-tainted Ajit Jogi for poll campaign, the BJP has decided to bring back former Union minister Dilip Singh Judeo

At a party briefing in Delhi on Thursday, Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Minister Arun Jaitley said former Union minister Dilip Singh Judeo has campaigned for BJP in the past and would do it in future too.

Asked to comment on former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi being asked by Congress to campaign for the party in the northeastern states, Jaitley said it was a 'pitiable situation' that the Congress has to rely on him.

"We are unable to understand whether it is an act of pardon or desperation," he said.

But to a supplementary whether Judeo would be asked by BJP to campaign during the Lok Sabha elections, he parried a direct reply saying every party worker will be involved in poll campaign and said Judeo has campaigned for the BJP in the past and shall do it in future.

Both Jogi and Judeo had hit the headlines in the wake of a controversial cash-on-camera scam in Chhattisgarh last year.
