Digvijay Singh's brother meets Venkaiah Naidu

February 20, 2004 23:13 IST

In a significant development ahead of the Lok Sabha election, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh's younger brother Laxman Singh had a meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party chief M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday, party sources told PTI.

Laxman Singh, who was a member of the dissolved Lok Sabha from Rajgarh in the state, has been representing this constituency as a Congress nominee for a decade in the wake of Digvijay Singh vacating the seat in 1993 after becoming the chief minister.

Naidu, while addressing the party's national council meeting in Delhi on February six, had claimed many leaders would soon be joining the BJP.
