April 25, 2004 19:36 IST
Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani's helicopter made an emergency landing at the campus of the AIR relay station in Jethli village, about 30km from Patna, due to a hailstorm.
Official sources said Advani and other occupants of the helicopter are safe.
Bihar BJP president Gopal Narayan Singh, who had accompanied Advani in the helicopter, told PTI that the DPM had left for Patna by road.
Singh said the 'Rajhans' helicopter carrying Advani and others from Bhagalpur to Patna was caught in a hailstorm a few minutes before it reached Patna airport forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing at Fatuha.
Advani will fly to New Delhi in the evening in a special plan from Patna airport.
