Kerala police beef up vigil for Togadia

April 10, 2004 13:14 IST

The police in Thiruvananthapuram have stepped up vigil at all important entry points to the city to prevent Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia's entry.

Togadia is scheduled to attend a meeting in Thiruvananthapuram later in the day.

"All entry points to the city are being closely monitored," police sources said.

The district collector issued a ban on Togadia's entry into the city on April 7 under section 144 CrPC.

In Coimbatore, Kerala police have posted a team at the airport.

Policemen in plain clothes have been posted at railway and bus stations too.
