Rahul not to indulge in tit-for-tat politics

April 06, 2004 17:10 IST

Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday made it clear that he would not indulge in tit-for-tat politics of targeting rivals.

On his mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi's 'foreign origin', which has been made a major issue in the run-up to the general election, he said, "Whoever wants to target me, no problem. I have no problem with it but I will not indulge in targeting people."

"Internally I was thinking, if [Narendra] Modi is targeting us, we are on the right track," he said referring to the Gujarat chief minister's attacks on his family.
