Nagaland: Two killed in post-poll violence

Two women were killed in police firing in Nagaland's Zunheboto district on Thursday night taking the toll in violence during polling, in the 60-member assembly in the state, to four.

The incident occurred at Aghunato when a mob attacked a police party escorting polling officials.

The policemen opened fire to disperse the mob in which two women were killed. A policeman was also injured in the attack and electronic voting machines destroyed, sources said.

Earlier, on Thursday two persons were killed in poll-related violence in Kohima and Mokchung districts.
