Panthers Party not to support PDP-led government

Election 2002 The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party said on Wednesday that it would not support a government led by the People's Democratic Party.

It also warned the Congress against "surrendering" the post of chief minister.

The announcement came soon after the Congress decided to have another round of talks with the PDP.

"Under no condition the Panthers Party will support a PDP chief minister," party president Bhim Singh said in Srinagar.

The Panthers Party will sit in the opposition in case the "Congress surrenders to PDP chief Mufti Mohammed Sayeed", he said.
