Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party chief Bhim Singh on Friday met the former chief minister of the state, Farooq Abdullah.
At the end of the 30-minute meeting, Abdullah said Singh sought his party's support to form the government, while Singh described his visit as 'just a courtesy call'.
"I have asked him to give this in writing after which it will be put before the party's political affairs committee for approval," Abdullah said.
Meanwhile, National Conference president Omar Abdullah said his party was not averse to supporting any political party, including the Congress to facilitate government formation in the state.
Omar said his party had close ties with the Congress and even its state chief [Ghulam Nabi Azad] had entered the Rajya Sabha with the NC's support.
The NC president said his party would even support a group of independents in their bid to form the government.
Regretting that the NC was being held responsible for the imposition of governor's rule in the state, Omar flayed all those 'fighting for small issues' and ignoring the 'larger interest of the people'.
