Counting of votes in Srinagar and Anantnag delayed

Election 2002

Counting of votes in Srinagar and Anantnag districts was delayed on Thursday morning as the poll staff at both places were still in the process of making arrangements.

Counting in Srinagar was delayed by more than half an hour and in Anantnag it was rescheduled to start at 9 am. The counting was originally scheduled to start at 8 am.

Srinagar district covers ten assembly constituencies, including Ganderbal from where National Conference chief Omar Abdullah is seeking election for the first time.
