60 per cent turnout in repoll
at two Budgam booths

Election 2002 Around 60 per cent turnout was recorded during the repoll at two booths in Budgam constituency, where rigging was reported in the second phase of polling on September 24, official sources said on Wednesday.

The repoll was held at two booths - 43 Budgam and 44 Budgam - on September 27.

There are seven candidates in the fray but the main contest is between Aga Syed Mehmood, a former minister who quit the National Conference on being denied a ticket for the assembly polls and is contesting as an independent, and his nephew and NC nominee Aga Syed Roohullah.
