Tight security for polling in Hamirpur

More than 3,000 security personnel will be deployed in the Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh where 340 of 1,372 booths are sensitive, including 80 that are hyper-sensitive.

Hamirpur goes to poll on Saturday, September 25.

Returning Officer Kamlesh Kumar Panth said one jawan each of the police and homeguards would be posted at the normal polling booths, while one havaldar, two homeguard jawans and two police constables would be posted at the hyper-sensitive booths.

Pant said 5,910 polling officers and 3,134 police personnel would be posted in the entire constituency.

The constituency is spread across Hamirpur, Una, Bilaspur and Dehra revenue sub-division of Kangra district.
