Zero voters will vote at this booth!

The chief electoral officer in Bhubaneswar is in a quandary -- should he send polling officials to a booth that exists but has no voter?

Booth number 80 in Berhampur Lok Sabha constituency had more than 400 voters during the last parliamentary election. But the state government relocated them following a decision to set up a steel plant at Gopalpur.

Chief Electoral Officer A S Sarangi said the confusion arose after the revised electoral list showed no voters in Pratapur booth under the Chhatrapur assembly segment of Berhampur Lok Sabha seat. The names all figure in adjacent stations.
