The Marathwada break-up

Marathwada has 47 assembly and eight Lok Sabha seats.

In the 19990 assembly elections, the Sena won 12, the BJP 6, the Congress 24, Independent 1, RPI (both factions) none, the PWP 3, and JD 2.

In the 1995 assembly elections, the Sena's tally went up to 15, the BJP 11, the Congress plummeted to 10, Independents 5, CPI 2, RPI none, PWP 2, and JD 2.

In the 1991 parliamentary elections, the Sena won 3 seats (Hingoli, Parbhani, Aurangabad), and the Congress the rest: Nanded, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Osmanabad. The BJP won none seats

In the 1996 parliamentary elections, the Sena won four (Hingoli, Parbhani, Aurangabad and Osmanabad), the BJP two (Jalna, Beed) and the Congress two (Nanded, Latur).
