80 per cent cast their vote in Lakshadweep

Polling in the Lakshadweep Lok Sabha constituency passed off peacefully today, with more than 80 per cent of the 36,870 voters exercising their franchise.

No untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the constituency.

P M Sayeed (Congress) is seeking a re-election for the tenth consecutive term from the constituency in a multi-cornered contest. K P Muthukoya of the Janata Dal (U) is his main rival.
