Balram Jakhar's erstwhile constituency, which he first won in 1984. In the next election, he was defeated by former Haryana chief minister Devi Lal before winning it back in 1991, the losing candidate this time being from the BJP. The Congress changed its candidate in 1996, as did the BJP, but that did nothing to alter the outcome.
