Thamaraikani reiterates charges against Jaya

Expelled All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader R Thamaraikani today declared that he was ready to face the defamation case filed against him by party general secretary J Jayalalitha.

In a statement released in his native town Srivilliputhur, the rebel, who is contesting against AIADMK nominee and former Supreme Court judge V Ramasamy in Sivakasi, claimed that he possessed evidence to back up his charge against Jayalalitha and was ready to meet her in court.

Reiterating his charge that Jayalalitha had collected funds for distributing party tickets to candidates, he said he would expose the AIADMK leader both in a court of law and the "people's court".

Charging Jayalalitha with ruining the AIADMK, he said that while hundreds of thousands of workers like him had toiled to nurture the party, she had given tickets to persons like Ramasamy, former IAS officer K Malaisamy and former vice-chancellor of MGR Medical University B P Rajan who were total newcomers.
