    Supposedly one of America's premier literary journals since 1939, the Kenyon Review publishes new poetry from around the world, including voices and established poets and literary criticism. The site is visually appealing, with its fiction, reviews and poetry being much appreciated. A highlight is the history of the Kenyon Review, which also helps students trace American literary history in the latter half of the twentieth century.

This annotated bibliography of novels, stories, essays and other material deals with this issue of 'what ifs' all the way. Calling itself an Alternate History List, it documents material termed as alternative histories or uchronia, where one or more past events are changed to analyse their subsequent effects on our present history. Terribly exciting.

    Perseus is, to put it simply, a detailed searchable library of texts, translations, art and archaeology encompassing ancient Greece and Rome. A text-only option is available, with a complete index, info on art and archaeology, texts and translations, an encyclopaedia, essays and catalogues. Check out the ancient Greek texts and over 500 papyrus publications.

    Those who like fantasy will love this site. There is a lot of info on popular authors including Terry Brooks, Stephen Donaldson, Robert Jordan, Stephen Lawhead and Tolkien.
