Zaheer Khan suffered a hamstring injury and was forced to leave the field on the opening day of the first Test against England at Lord's on Thursday.

Although the status of the pacer's availability for the rest of Test, and series, is still unclear, his absence could have a bearing on the team's fortunes in the four Tests.

Right through his career, Zaheer has been plagued with different injuries, missing matches at regular intervals.

Between two England tours, in 2007 and 2011, India played 43 Tests and Zaheer had to sit out in 15 of them; that is, one every three Tests!
