A spell of heavy rain for nearly 45 minutes on Friday evening saw the ground covered completely in water. The England practice session was also cut short by the unseasonal shower at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore.

The ground has an excellent drainage system ensuring that the water seeped out in no time, while the covers on the square protected the pitch and the 30-yard circle.

Despite that it left many locals wondering as to whether some 'curse' was haunting the venue ahead of the big match.

The India-England match was originally scheduled to be held in Kolkata but the match was shifted because the venue was failed to meet its deadline for complete of renovation work.

However, there is some positive news for the cricket fans in the city with bright sunny day predicted for Sunday.
